Bay Area’s Jason Kidd buying in the Hamptons

Oakland native and basketball all star Jason Kidd won’t be making his way back to Bay Area anytime soon. Espeically now that he’s going to be the owner of a new Hamptons spread, which AOL Real Estate reports he’s in contract to buy. The estate was listed for just under $6 million.

Born in San Francisco, but raised in Oakland, Kidd became a high school standout while playing basketball at Notre Dame High School in Alameda. He chose to stay local after getting his high school diploma and brought recognition to Cal’s basketball program, leading it a couple of NCAA tournament berths. After two years at Cal, he was ready for the big time and has been a pro ever since.

The house is nearly 8,000 square feet house is brand spanking new, with 6 bedrooms and 6 baths. Sitting on two acres, it has the requsite pool and tennis court. The house is split, with 5,500 square feet of living quarters above ground and below, is 2,300 square feet of space for maid or au pair quarters and rec rooms.
