SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Jul 30, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) –
Steve De La Pena has been named Zephyr Real Estates’ new Vice
President of Strategic Services. De La Pena brings extensive career
coaching and training expertise to the firm, and his focus will be
business development and growth, both for agents in expanding their
own business as well as for the company as a whole.

“After an extensive search process, we are extremely pleased to make
this announcement,” commented Randall Kostick, Chief Operating
Officer for Zephyr. “The search was over and the decision was
unanimous once we met with Steve. His strong relationships in the
industry, vision, integrity and professional acumen make for a
perfect fit.”

After selling real estate for six years, De La Pena elected to make
home buying and selling a safe and enjoyable place for all
participants, including the agents. He entered real estate management
in 1987 and immediately set to creating an environment where agents
can realize their full potential, and clients can depend on the
professionalism and honesty of their agent. For 11 years, Steve
managed the Berkeley office of Coldwell Banker, taking it into the
top three offices in Northern California. In 2001 he joined Pacific
Union Real Estate Group as a Vice President and Branch Executive,
managing the Civic Center/Opera Plaza office and later, the Orinda
office. He helped shepherd that company through one of the most
challenging markets San Francisco has ever seen.

For almost five years he was the Vice President of Oahu Operations
and Broker in Charge for one of the top companies in the state of
Hawaii.

Family, friends and a love of the Bay Area drew him back to San
Francisco and ultimately to Zephyr. De La Pena also dedicated
considerable research in finding the right fit. “The move to Zephyr
was a natural evolution of my commitment to seek out the best and
most professional real estate atmosphere,” he remarked. “The support
that Zephyr gives its agents and their clients is second to none in
the industry.”

In addition to his substantial professional background, De La Pena
has many broad and colorful interests. He has been a musician, a
martial arts practitioner and instructor, and a writer of novels and
screenplays. He also has a degree in English Lit and Poetry from the
University of California at Berkeley. He is an avid open water
swimmer, and has successfully conquered the trip to and from
Alcatraz, the Golden Gate and circumnavigating Angel Island. He and
his wife are delighted to return to the Bay Area.

Those wishing to discuss real estate or becoming an agent with Zephyr
are invited to contact him at sdelapena@zephyrsf.com.
