Wild Feather: Celebrating its grand opening on Haight Street with discounts during the day and a party starting in the evening this Saturday, this new San Francisco boutique is stocked with an eclectic mix of items from Bay Area designers such as Tamo Design, Sonas Denim, Fluidance, SuperSugarRayRay, Kayo Animae, SilverLucy Design and Miranda Caroligne. In keeping with the surrounding neighborhood, expect a bohemian vibe to the offerings, as well as many one-of-a-kind clothing items and accessories. 593 Haight St., SF.

Loakal: Also opening its doors this weekend in Oakland, this pop-up art gallery and boutique is a collaborative project led by Lower Nob Hill gallery Spoke Art, clothing label fiftyseven-thirtythree and the East Bay Express. Timing its first days to coincide with Oakland’s First Fridays Art Murmur and the Art Soul Festival, both worthy events taking place this weekend, the space will offer apparel, accessories, art and other goods from a roster of of small, independent names that includes Ana Apple, Ezme, the Rebicyclist, Korrupt Label, Intwined, Pretty Fun, Nous Savons and others.

“We get to have the space for just the month of August, but we are pushing to make it a long term gig,” reports fiftyseven-thirty-three’s Loretta Ngyuen.

BeGood: This Marina neighborhood newcomer from co-owners Dean Ramadan and Mark Spera intrigues with its promise of stocking men’s and women’s apparel and accessories from brands aligned with a variety of environmental and humanitarian causes. In a store space outfitted with sustainable wood (of course!) floors and eco-friendly fixtures, racks and shelves are populated with wearables from 35 brands, including eco-friendly Palo Alto label Amour Vert, scarves by FashionAble, a non-profit whose projects help create sustainable businesses for women in Africa; men’s dress shirts from Read’s Clothing Project, which donates a book to a child in need for every shirt sold; and water bottles by Miir, a company that pledges to provide clean water for a year to one individual for every bottle it sells.
